DAY 3: From the ground to the sky

Picture of the day (Rafael & Quentin)

From the ground to the sky

Our word today is lively. We choose this word because we did a lot of things, we acted, we did art critics, we discovered the surroundings of London, we ran a lot to take the boat on the Thames because we were late. This day was so enriching and kept us so busy that we never got bored.

Today we chose the word: giant
Because we had the chance to see huge buildings built from the ground to the sky. We decided to take the Shard picture because it’s the tallest building in West Europe as it is 1017 feet tall. It’s really impressive. London really welcomes big constructions like the London Eye which is 443 feet tall or other building. As a matter of fact we were able to appreciate this view during our cruise on the Thames.

Word of the day : History because we learned a lot of facts about Shakespeare and the Globe theatre. We also went to Trafalgar Square and heard about the Trafalgar Battle. (Alienor & Louise)

Word of the day : Imagination
Today we could see many things that refer to art. For example the Tate Modern and its painting collection (sometimes not understandable). The different artists gave us our opinion and then we had to explain our interpretation based on one piece of art. We went to the Shakespeare Globe Theatre, a place of another art. We learned how to spread vibes , move our body and express ourselves. At the end we were at Leicester Square where there are some movie theatres and of course movies are art. We could conclude by saying that London is a very diverse city but we have to say that it’s the place of art. (Raphaël S & Louis)

Word of the day: intertwime
This word is a mix between intertwine and time. Today, with the Tate Modern, the Shakespeare Globe Theater, the Thames' cruise and the Trafalgar square, we travelled back and forth in time, discovering different eras just by turning our head. The different phases of London history mixed together and intertwined. (Lorène & Clément)

We chose the word "incredible" to describe this day because it was so much more than a simple day of sightseeing in London. At Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, we delved into the world of drama, led by a man who shared not just his knowledge, but his passion for drama. His warmth and enthusiasm inspired us, giving us the confidence to step into our roles and express ourselves in ways we never thought possible.

Following this, we saw the iconic Tower Bridge! As we cruised down the River Thames, seeing the mix of old and new in the city's skyline was amazing.

Our day culminated with le Covent Garden! It wasn't just the places that made the day incredible, but the emotions and memories we collected along the way. Truly, it was an immersion into the heart and soul of London.
(Elise and Lisa)

DAY 4: Being British

Picture of the day (Nathan, Eliott, Louis)

 Being British

Rainy. Today was a pretty rainy day in Cambridge. We walked a lot under the rain, but the final reward was amazing! We finally got our first fish and chips of the trip! We enjoyed sharing this meal with the entire class, it bounded us even more!

We learn more about the way of life on campus for British students, and it made us realize that it was very different than ours !

We felt very « British » just by walking around, trying traditional food, and all of this under the rain of course 😆

Word of the day : raining. Today was a raining day but for English people it’s not a problem. Of course they continue to do sport when it’s raining as the same of us. Because after a morning full of twists and cancellations, we ate a well deserved fish and chips. Then, we saw the universities of Cambridge. We come back in our families but before we made a stop to a supermarket to bring English specialties to our families.

Typical : Today, we chose this word, because today we've seen all the traditional British things, like the fish and chips, the rainy day or the Cambridge College. Moreover, today was a special day because it was the graduation ceremony for those who get their Masters. (Quentin & Edgar)

Word of the day : rainy. We have chosen this word because today was a very raining day. But even though we were wet, we still enjoyed discovering the city of Cambridge. We really liked eating the fish and chips this was a great surprise from the teachers ! Then we visited the city thanks to the guide. We think that our favorite college was the Trinity College which is the college where King Charles III studied archaeology and anthropology. (Lena & Estelle)

Word of the day : cultural robbers
Indeed, as we have seen in the archeology museum, all items were from outside England. Moreover, British are well-known to have stolen important objects from other ancient civilisations such as Peru, China, South Asia, Egypt, Syria, Cyprus, Persia and Africa.
PS : Obviously we’re just joking around and still enjoyed the museum and the day.

(Lucie & Julia)

We chose the word « wet » to describe this day in Cambridge because it rained all day. Our plans to go punting in the morning were stopped by the rain, leading us to an unexpected visit to the Zoology Museum. Taking a break, we shared a warm coffee moment with Mr. Esteve, which was great! Lunchtime brought us all together over some delicious fish and chips, a British classic treat. In the afternoon, even as raindrops continued to fall, our guided tour of the historic city was memorable. Despite the rain and us being drenched, the day turned out to be brilliantly interesting and unforgettable! (Laura & Lisa)

Word of the day : sunny spell
Unfortunately, today was the rainiest day. We’ve only seen the clouds in the sky which were …. grey. Moreover the punting was cancelled. Thanks to everyone the day became really nice and rich of information. We’ve discovered museums, done sightseeing in the city of Cambridge, and eaten a huge fish and chips and a cheese cake even if some people didn’t like the cake. Last but not least we entered in a supermarket to finish the day in the best way. (Eliott, Nathan & Louis)

Word of the day : cliché. We chose this word because today was full of British elements that seem to define the country. From the discovery of Cambridge to the Fish and Chips we ate, passing by the rain that didn’t wanted to let us in peace, the entire day completed the image of Britain we had. But the rain didn’t stop us from having fun et discover the beautiful city of Cambridge. We even had the chance to observe the student’s happiness of the masters’ graduation ceremony (Camille & Léonore)

DAY 5: Our team

DAY 2: Majestic landscapes

Picture of the day (Camille & Elise)

day 2

We chose the word 'variety' after our amazing day. When we visited the Seven Sisters, we saw that each cliff was unique in its own way, but all together they made a beautiful view. Brighton was full of life and different things to see. The streets had different shops and people were nice. The British Pavilion was like a treasure chest of different arts and histories. It was clear to us that our day had one thing in common: they showed us the variety and richness of life. (Louise, Léna and Lisa)

The word we have chosen today is timing. In fact, our watch was the leader of the day. Everything was timed but not oppressing. During the day, we had to be awake at 6 , be at the meeting point at 7:30. Then we took a lot of bus, visited a past castle that made us time travel. And after that we got 2 hours in the shining city of Brighton, which was a lot of fun (funny shop, hilarious weather) . But the time as come, the plank has to be done ;D. Don't be late or you'll be sweat! (Rafael S & Rafael)

Word of the day: China blue (between blue and gray). It refers to the colour of the sea and the sky we saw today but also to the colour we saw in many rooms in the royal pavilion of Brighton. (Lorène & Louis)

Beautiful:We chose this word for today because we discovered several places that look quite good like the city of Brighton and The Seven Sisters. The city was really special because it was next to the sea, and the infrastructure of the buildings were quite unique which make the city special. About The Seven Sisters, compared to them we were mouses in a house, it was really gigantic and wonderful. (Edgar & Jean-Philippe)

Word of the day : eclectic, because we saw lots of different things such as nature and city, we saw the Seven Sisters cliffs, visited Eastbourne and its local shops, Brighton with its Royal Pavilion (inspired from asian cultures) and amusement park. It has been indeed a very diverse day with cool activites ! (Julie & Lucie)

Our word today is unique. Because we spent a day really original, we never thought by going to England that we would go to the sea. The fresh air was really pleasant, we had a lot of fun. Even though we finished our visit in Brighton by being obliged to do a sit up because of 1 minute of late. (Inès & Laura)

Today, we have chosen the word amazed because we are amazed by all the beautiful landscapes that we saw and especially the seven sisters. The seven sisters are a serie of cliffs. With the stormy sea and sometimes appearances of the sun this landscape looked beautiful ! We also learned a lot of things on the seven sisters including the fact that this cliffs are named like that simply because there’s seven cliffs. Moreover, we’ve learned that there is not only one Brexit during the history of England but two because we mentioned a geological Brexit. Actually, in the past, England wasn’t separated from France by the sea. Plus, we didn’t know that part because we’ve never been there before and the result is that we really enjoyed that day with a lot of wonderful landscapes.

 (Estelle & Clémence)

DAY 1 : « Grand Alliance »

Picture of the day (Aliénor & Lorène)

Today we went in the very special War Museum. Very special because it differs drastically from the others : we read different personal experiences about people who lived the war, there were pictures, furnitures and the rooms were really adapted to our Internet Era. But the best thing was that we had the opportunity to discuss with some English people who were visiting too ! We exchanged some points of view about what we saw and read, and we used our bilingual ressources in a good way. (Pauline & Clémence V)

The first word we have chosen is meetings. Because during the visit of the museum we have talked with some foreigners. They speak about their country, their stereotype about us. We talk about how we study the WW2, and the place of France in this war. The second people that we have met are our host family that is really nice. (Raphaël S & Eliott)

Beginning. We chose this word because today marked the beginning of a long and exciting trip. It’s also the beginning of new exchanges between our classmates and teachers. (Clémence B, Nathan, Léna)

« We chose the world intense to describe our first day in London. It was a day full of excitement, made of smiles, laughs and fun times. However, the visit of the Imperial War Museum remained very interesting, but also very emotional for both of us, since we had the opportunity to learn more about the holocaust. » (Elise and Julie)

Army: firstly, just after our landing, we took the bus to Buckingham palace in order to see the changing of the guard. But we were late so we didn’t see it very well. However, we could see some typical English guards. Moreover, in the afternoon, we visited the imperial war museum where there were many testimonies from the WW2.  (Clément, Louis, Rafael)
